Fragrance of Christ

“For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,”

2 Cor 2:15

In the garden of Eden, God deputized man to rule over the garden and all that was in it. Adam was to steward and deputize on behalf of God.

We do not think of ourselves like this often enough but if God has someone available to do His work, God will always use that person to accomplish what He wants to do, even though He doesn’t need us. He doesn’t need us, but He wants us.

There is death, decay and degradation all around us. In the very middle of it, God wants to rescue the world and offer the free gift of eternal life. Now how does He do that? Through you and me.

He wants us to live in a way where those

around us -

people who believe in Him and those who do not - can smell the aroma of Christ. The sweet aroma of the One who saves, rescues, heals, delivers, forgives, breaks through, provides and protects, is shared with the rest of the world through you and me. You are meant to infect lives with the life-giving person of Jesus.

Just like Jesus went about doing good, it’s an everyday call for us to go about doing good so that the fragrant aroma of Christ is shared with the world around us.
